* Lone Star Roadhouse Cafe 240 W 52nd St 245-2950
   A country western, blues and rock bar This place has
    an overwhelming decor: mirrors, Miller Beer banners,
   fireplaces, carpeting, Gibson guitars and letters from
   Texas dignitaries. Expect great music - a mix of rock,
   blues and country. This two-floored bar (that really
   belongs on a roadside) hoosts a mixed, young crowd.
* Manny's Car Wash 1558 3rd Ave (87th/88th) 369-2583
   Upper East Side blues bar This place looks as if it's
   been set up for a movie - cleaner and glitzier than a real
   blues bar should be. But despite the setting, the music
   is great. It's a no-frills place to listen to a variety of
   blues acts performing under a neon sign on the stage
   that says BLUES. The crowd jammed into the narrow
   space is the same as at Upper East Side watering holes,
   a mix of college types and young professionals.
* Mondo Perso Blues Club 167 Bleecker St 477-3770
   Nondescript blues club You might drop by here if the
   other clubs in the area are packed. The place doesn't
   have much character and the crowd is a mixed bag.
   The bands have talent, but the seating can be cramped.
* Rodeo Bar 375 3rd Ave (at 27th) 683- A basic dive with
   live nightly blues and country music A low-key
