  • Augie's: 2751 Broadway at 106th St.- (212) 864-9834    Augie's is a cozy (70 - 75 seats) upper west side jazz    club that has music 7 nights a week.It is in the    Columbia University area and so is frequented by    students as well as area residents and international    travelers alike. They usually have 2 bands. The first    starting at 8:30PM and the next at 10:30PM. A full    menu is available from 6:30PM - Midnight.

Tuesday there is a "structured jam" hosted by    the Harlem Allstars where you might catch musicians    from the Basie, Ellington or Sinatra Orchestras among    many others passing through.   • Lone Star Roadhouse Cafe 240 W 52nd St 245-2950    A country western, blues and rock bar This place has     an overwhelming decor: mirrors, Miller Beer banners,    fireplaces, carpeting, Gibson guitars and letters from    Texas dignitaries. Expect great music - a mix of rock,    blues and country. This two-floored bar (that really    belongs on a roadside) hoosts a mixed, young crowd.
  • Manny's Car Wash 1558 3rd Ave (87th/88th) 369-2583    Upper East Side blues bar This place looks as if it's    been set up for a movie - cleaner and glitzier than a real    blues bar should be. But despite the setting, the music    is great. It's a no-frills place to listen to a variety of    blues acts performing under a neon sign on the stage    that says BLUES. The crowd jammed into the narrow    space is the same as at Upper East Side watering holes,    a mix of college types and young professionals.
