The service, decor, and food are all excellent. Quality French cuisine, complemented by dancing on Thursday-Saturday. Excellent for a romant ic d inner.
  • Capsouto Freres 451 Washington St. Watts St. 212-966-4900. Your first impression will not reflect how your overall experience will turn out. In fact this French restaurant located in TriBeCa will most likely impress you. With accesible parking and excellent souffles, it's am excellent bet.
  • Chez Michallet 90 Bedford St. Grove St. 212-242-8309. If you are looking for a romantic dinner in the village you have come to the right place. Go for the price fixe because sometimes it can get expensive. The food is good.
  • Gascogne 158 Eigth Ave. bet 17th & 18th Sts. 212-675-6564. Located downtown, the service is great and so is the setting. You might feel like you are in France. Go for the price fixe.
  • Grove 314 Bleecker St. Grove St. 212-675-9463. Located in the West Village, you are receiving a great deal. The food is very inexpensive relative to the quality. Great garden.
  • La Colombe d'Or 134 E. 26th St. bet Lexington & 3rd Aves. 212-689-0666. This romantic, authentic French bistro is located on the East Side. Try the Corsican, Sardinan, or the Maltese dishes. they also have a great wine list.
  • La Pactole2 World Financial Center. 225 Liberty St. Vessey St. 212-945-9444. If you decide to eat here, do while the sun is setting. The views are absolutely spectacular. Sundau Brunch is a good bet. The food is pretty good, but the resturant is a bit overpriced.
  • Le Jardin Bistro 25 Cleveland Pl. bet Lafayette & Spring Sts. 212-343-9599. Located in SoHo, is this excellent French bistro. This intimate bistro on top of having good food, is moderately priced.
  • L'Udo 432 Lafayette St. bet Astor Pl & 4th St. 212-388-0978. Situated in the Downtown area is this excellent French-Italian restaurant. It gets big draws from the art, and cultural community. With an exceptional garden this one is hard to beat.
  • Alison on Dominick Street 38 Dominick St. bet Hudson & Varick Sts. 212-727-1188. Located in West SoHo, if you can find it you will be in for a real treat. With professional service, and a gorgeous appearance, this French Bistro is good to take a date to.

Forget the price or the amount of time it might take to finally get served your main course. the quality of the food and the service are matched b y none. If you go during lunch you will find it easier to get in, and much easier on your wallet.

Also one of the most romantic restaurants in the entire city. It is the place to bring your special someone. the Box Tree grill is also very good. If you eat there go for the steak.
  • Brasserie 53rd bet. Park & Lexington. 212-751-4840. Open 24-hour french bistro, worth the extra money. Closed for renovation but due to reopen soon.
  • C.T. 111 E. 22nd St. bet Lexington & Park Aves. 212-995-8500. This new French cuisine located on the east side is considered quite excellent. With excellent wine and great service this definately improves the city's wide variety of restaurants. Despite the high price it is well worth it.
