Where to Celebrate a Vegan Thanksgiving All Year-round

Thanksgiving isn’t just a day for turkey.  You can enjoy a wonderful vegan holiday on the proverbial “Turkey Day” as well as fabulous vegan meals all year long.  Here are some of our favorite locations:

The Gramercy Schoolhouse presents ‘Thankful’:

For a true, family-style feast, vegan chef Daphne Cheng and her Verite catering are offering a Thanksgiving spread at the Gramercy Schoolhouse from 6-10pm on Sunday, November 27.  Think fall classic flavors such as pumpkin, sweet potato, and cranberry, with a twist of vegan-friendly flare and plant-based dishes.  Roasted seitan with cornbread stuffing and strawberry-cranberry chutney is just one of the numerous, mouth-watering options, to be washed down with mulled apple cider and fresh ginger sangria. Tickets are $25, with special VIP admission for $60 (include unlimited drinks and a goodie bag).  Reservations available at: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/203790

Angelica Kitchen:

A landmark of the East Village since 1976, Angelica Kitchen is well known for its no- reservation policy.  Come Thanksgiving, however, reservations are strongly recommended to get a taste of the 5-course prix fixe menu of veggie delight.  At $55/person, the dining room will be serving indulgences like polenta baked with fresh figs, Thai-style red kuri squash bisque and cauliflower celery root soufflé.  Top it all off with a pear spice cake sugared in lemon balm poached Seckel pear.  You are welcome to bring your own wine (or beer), as there is no corkage fee on Thanksgiving, http://www.angelicakitchen.com/pdf/menus/daily_specials.pdf
